Dieters : Questions You Must Ask Yourself when You Want to Lose Weight

May 3rd, 2008 by aydasawada

By Janice Elizabeth Small Now I know you’re always asking yourself questions. You know the ones like “Why can’t I lose weight?” and “Why does everything that’s bad for you taste good?”. But those questions won’t get you anywhere except maybe helping you feel sorry for yourself and setting you up for a spot of comfort eating. A more empowering set of questions, on the other hand, will get you off to a good start if you’re about to begin a weight loss program (or keep you on track if you’re in the middle of a diet). Here are the questions to ask when you want to give your weight loss efforts a real kick start. Why do you want to lose weight? Make sure your reasons for losing weight are clear. Do you want to look good? Do you want to feel healthier? Has your doctor given you a health warning? Do you just want to be able to run around the park with your kids? Maybe all these reasons apply. The more reasons you have for losing weight and the more you are aware of them the easier it will be to remind yourself to keep to your weight loss program when the going gets tough. Even better, spend some time imagining how you will FEEL when you succeed. This will do more than anything to increase your motivation. How much weight do you want to lose? Set yourself a target. This gives you something to aim for and you will be able to see how much closer you are getting each week. You can never succeed if you don’t know what the end point is. “I want to lose weight” is not a measurable goal you have succeeded (of sorts) after you lose an ounce. Make your goal specific with a target to aim for. What will you do to lose weight? Nothing is going to change unless you do. So what changes are you going to make? Will you follow a particular plan or just cut down in general? How will you know if you’re succeeding? What exercise will you take (if any)? How will you make sure that you follow your plan? What will you do about the things that might get in the way? Vague ideas about losing weight need to translate via a concrete plan into action. Ask yourself the questions and decide what you will do. Who will support you? Some people will actively encourage you and help your efforts while others will get in the way of your plans. Do you know who your supporters will be? And who you will need to avoid or find some way to deal with? Ask for the support you need from those you think are most likely to give it or join a club of people who are also trying to lose weight. These are available online or offline. If you can afford it think about getting a coach all that focus on your success will work wonders. As for those who are less than enthusiastic about your plans, think about ways of handling them. Of course you’ll need a different strategy for close friends and relatives than you need for the guy who brings cakes into the office and insists you eat one! And the final question? When will you start? There’s no time like TODAY. No eating the pantry empty before you begin. Dump the junk food and get started right now! Mediterranean Diet It’s All About the Fats

May 1st, 2008 by aydasawada

By Allison Preston The Mediterranean Diet is nothing new, in fact it was “discovered” by Doctor Ancel Keys of the United States Army in 1945. He observed the diet of the 16 countries that bordered the Mediterranean Sea and was able to find some common factors that most of them shared. Fresh fruits and vegetables were consumed in very high quantities as were cereals, breads. Many countries also consumed beans, nuts, and seeds in generous amounts. Eggs were consumed fairly regularly, and wine was consumed daily although in moderate amounts. The oils used for cooking were primarily plant based oils like olive oil. They consumed only small portions of heavily marbled fats like those found in red meats and dairy consumption was kept to a minimum. For many westerners this presented something of a nutritional conundrum. Western medicine had taught us to eat low fats foods and avoid high fat foods at all costs. As our understanding of fats and how they are processed by the body changed the opinion of Mediterranean Diet changed. Olive oil is considered a good fat and actually lowers cholesterol in the body. Additionally new studies have shown that olive oil lowers the production of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes which have been shown to help prevent cancer. While there are many other factors that contribute to the overall health of the people of the Mediterranean region, nutrition is an important part. So by following the Mediterranean Diet you will be able to eat full flavored healthy foods that are good for you and your body. Copyright Fitness-Web.com, all Rights Reserved. Glow In the Dark Jewelry Trends

April 28th, 2008 by aydasawada

By Jill Nelson Glow in the dark pieces of jewelry have become increasingly popular accessories for individuals of all ages. There are so many forms of glow in the dark jewelry that you could virtually light yourself up using only these accessories. This form of jewelry is fairly inexpensive (especially compared to most types of jewelry) and is meant to be used as fun and creative accessories that let your personality shine through. Some of the most popular glow in the dark items include glow bracelets, glow necklaces, glow pins and glow rings and each form of jewelry has its own unique characteristics. Glow Bracelets Glow bracelets are a fun and creative way to sport the latest form of glow in the dark jewelry and are great for parties that take place at night or in a bar. They come in a variety of colors including purple, pink and yellow and one glow bracelet can have up to 3 colors in one. Glow bracelets are fairly cheap and can be purchased for as little as 25 cents a bracelet when purchased in bulk or wholesale forms These bracelets usually only come in one size which fits almost any size of wrist. Glow Necklaces Glow necklaces are an extended form of glow bracelets. They are made with the exact same materials and come in the same colors; they are just bigger so they fit around your neck instead of your wrist. That said, they also cost more because they use more materials. A glow necklace may cost about 50 cents when purchased in bulk or wholesale form. Glow Pins Glow pins are the newest form of glow in the dark jewelry on the market and offer a wide selection of designs and styles to choose from. Glow pins are available in the form of pins, smiley faces, sports teams and even flags. These pins are not made from the same material as glow bracelets and necklaces, they light up using battery-powered LED lights. These are also considerably more expensive than glow necklaces and glow bracelets, however they last way longer and are less likely to get broken or damaged. Glow Rings Glow rings are not quite as popular as the other forms of jewelry listed above, perhaps because not as many people are aware that they exist. Glow rings come in many sizes and are great for parties and other fun events. Not only are there glow rings, but there are also glow earrings which can be purchased in many different shapes and designs. Glow rings can cost as little as $5 and glow earrings as little as $7, but they also have the potential to be quite expensive as well. Glow jewelry is only expected to become more popular in the years to come and there are sure to be many new styles and innovations in this form of jewelry. Herbs For Fast Weight Loss

April 22nd, 2008 by aydasawada

By Peter Emerson The use of herbs as medicine, for various medical ailments, dates back to the Aryan period. The practice of using herbs to cure and treat diseases is known as “Ayurveda”, or “holistic treatment” or “naturopathy”. The Ayurvedic method of treatment is primarily considered an Indian treatment, but was later taken up by the other countries, based on its results and effectiveness. Various herbs can be used to treat obesity depending on the physical constitution and food habits of an individual. The various herbs used to treat obesity can be found in various regions, according to the climate and weather conditions suitable for their growth. Sometimes they are even imported from other countries, depending on the success rate of a particular herb for helping people in losing weight. One of the most important factors of fast weight loss is considered to be the internal cleansing or detoxification of the body, which includes cleaning the body of the junk food and their harmful effects. Some of these herbs help in cleansing the body keeping it free from excessive hunger, and thus help with avoiding the intake of junk food. Also, these herbs help in maintaining the nutrition balance and energy levels while undergoing weight loss therapy. These herbs also help individuals to reduce their tendency of consuming high calorie food, and experience a sense of “fullness” for three hours after regular meals. They have become so popular among people suffering from obesity, due to the fact that they do not have harmful side effects that many chemical pills can have. These herbs can be taken prior to or after meals, mixed with water and other liquids such as tea or milk. The amount and number of times that the herbs need to be used may vary, from person to person and with children to adults. A list of the most popular and successful herbs used for treating obesity can be found in various Web sites dealing with herbal treatment for obesity. Some of the most popular herbs used in America for a fast weight loss include Banaba Leaf, Psyllium and Garcinia camboqia. DUI Laws

April 20th, 2008 by aydasawada

By Eddie Tobey DUI laws collectively refer to the rules and regulations pertaining to DUI. Driving under the influence (DUI), also known as drunk driving, is legally referred to as driving or operating a motor vehicle in a public place under the influence of alcohol and other illegal drugs. DUI is considered one of the main reasons of motor vehicle crashes. Driving while intoxicated (DWI), driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII), operating motor vehicle intoxicated (OMVI) and operation under the influence (OUI) is the other legal terms for driving under the influence of alcohol. A person is generally accused of DUI, when DUI (driving under the influence) laws are violated in one of two ways — driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and driving with a 0.08 or higher blood alcohol level. DUI laws are quite complex and vary from state to state. The DUI statutes of a particular state, determines the punishment for the DUI charge. Each state has set a legal limit for blood alcohol content. If it is proved that the offenders blood alcohol content is above the fixed limit, an arrest and penalty will usually follow. If you are suspected of driving under the influence of intoxicants, your blood and urine are first tested. A breathalyzer test is made to measure blood alcohol concentration the quantity of alcohol found in your blood. Driving under the influence of alcohol leads to loss of license, time in jail, hefty fines, probation and vehicle impoundments. Depending upon the situations, DUI laws can charge a wrongdoer with either a felony or a misdemeanor. If a defendant has violated any traffic rule or injured another person, DUI conviction becomes felonies, and in the event of any property damage, it becomes a misdemeanor. In such instances, most offenders seek the assistance of a competent and qualified attorney. DUI provides detailed information on DUI, DUI Lawyers, DUI Laws, DUI Defense and more. Is a Private Student Loan for You?

April 19th, 2008 by aydasawada

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Guy_Ray]Guy Ray A private student loan is an option for students who prefer not to borrow money from the government or from Sallie Mae, or who have not been fortunate in obtaining grants and scholarships from both private and public foundations. The interest rates could be slightly higher than say a federal Stafford loan or a Perkins loan, but if the student, or his parents, has a good relationship with a private lender, the rates and terms could be negotiatedand often in a friendly manner. A private student loan is sometimes called an alternative student loan and could be any type of loan, provided it was not obtained from a government source. Given this distinguishing characteristic therefore, a private student loan could be a private loan for a student with bad credit, a no credit check student loan (thats okay, we have your parents signature card on file), or a graduate student loan for students wanting to pursue a masters degree. Whatever form of private student loan you apply for, remember that a loan is a loan, no matter what it is called. This presupposes a commitment on the part of the lender to make available a definite amount of money to be placed at the lenders disposal; and by the same token, it presupposes a commitment on the part of the borrower to pay the loan back. The payment terms and schedule are usually outlined in the loan agreement. These elements make a private student loan a legal obligation, a valid contract, if you will. Both borrower and lender therefore are bound by a legal document that cannot be breached, unless for a very justified reason. If you compare the interest rate of your private student loan with that of the interest rate of your classmates federal government student loan, you may notice that his rate is lower. This should not come as a surprise. The US government has a student loan program that gives all US citizens a right to an education. And to make that right an affordable right and accessible to all, the rates on government student loans are usually much lower than a commercial loan a Wells Fargo loan as an example. Some private lenders advertise their private student loan programs in such a way that the student does not have to feel cornered about applying for a private student loan lenders say there are no application fees, no application deadlines, the loan amount can be paid after graduation, and that the funds are sent directly to the students account and not to the school. The approval for a private student loan will be given in just a couple of hours or 24 hours, according to some lenders. Before you sign on the dotted line for your private student loan, make sure you scrutinize the loan agreement. Guy Ray is a published copywriter with more than 200 articles to his credit. Mortgage Refinance Top Tips And Ideas

April 16th, 2008 by aydasawada

By Michael Rad A good mortgage refinance program can save you a lot of money as by lowering your monthly loan payments it will cause your interest rate to drop while you will thus be enabled to pay off the balance of your loan in a shorter time. You may also choose when applying for a mortgage refinance to extend the length of the loan, which will lower your monthly payments, although in this case the interest you will pay throughout the course of your loan will be higher. Still if you have difficulties in making the monthly payments a mortgage refinance can ease your current situation even if that means adding up to interest charges over the term of the loan. The idea with a mortgage refinance is that you are given the chance to pay off your current loan with a refinancing loan provided by a different lender with a lower Annual Percentage Rate. You can use the mortgage refinance system no matter if you want to refinance the loan for your car or the loan for your house, although the procedures are different in the two cases. Getting a mortgage refinance for a car loan is usually quicker and imposing or requiring less conditioning than a house loan. That means that while an appraisal is required when you want a mortgage refinance for your home loan, refinancing your car loan will spare you of that. Still in both cases, the mortgage refinance loan must not exceed the value of the asset in matter. The mortgage refinance system is working and it is very easy to understand: the lender will pay off your current loan and you will pay it back to your new lender at a lower APR. So when could you make a mortgage refinance? Most commonly, the main reason for applying for a mortgage refinance is given by a decline in interest rates, but there may also be other reasons, such as changes regarding the employment or financial situation, or an improved credit history. You can thus shorten your loan term by increasing your monthly payments if your new financial situation allows you to do it, which will consequently help you save the interest rate charge on a longer term. A mortgage refinance is of great help with fixed-rate mortgages if the interest rates have gone down, so you can make up for the money loss triggered by such a costly, unprofitable change in the interest rates. You can also choose to refinance your mortgage just to switch from one type of rate to another. So you can choose to apply for an adjustable mortgage rate if you want a lower interest rate or a fixed one if the interest rates are increasing, or keep fluctuating in a way that you may find too stressful to cope with. Or maybe you just want to improve your Adjustable rate mortgages, especially if you are no longer satisfied with the protective caps setting superior and inferior limits to your payments variation during a year and over the entire term of the loan. Regardless of the option you go for there is one thing that stays unchanged about mortgage refinance: it helps you save money. Cellulite Treatment of the New Age

April 14th, 2008 by aydasawada

By Troy Boyd Are you ready for the newest technique for cellulite treatment? This is something that the beautiful Jane Jetson would be mighty proud of to say the least. If you’ve been waiting for the quick fix of cellulite treatment then your time looks like it may have arrived my friend. It seems that as quickly and easily it is to get your eyes in tip top 20/20 shape, it’s just as easy with the new technique of laser surgery for cellulite removal. Yes maam, how happy are you to hear this glorious news? What’s more, the “FEL”, or free-electron-laser will very likely be used to blast away acne as well in the next couple of years. Here’s what is happening so far though. The FEL beam can be produced very specificly, to heat and break down fat tissue, without damaging other body tissue. In an article in The Times (Online) by Sam Lister, the good news on the new cellulite treatment was stated like this: “Using the FEL, which is much more powerful than a conventional laser, the scientists were able to choose selected laser wavelengths that could heat up the fat, which was then broken down and excreted by the body”. Another huge benefit will be when the technique will be used to break down plaque in arteries. In fact, the cellulite removal may be the secondary benefit in the grander scheme of it all don’t you think? Before you get excited however, it looks like this treatment won’t be hitting the local strip malls just yet. It’s being successfully tested on pig fat (not a bad place to start actually). But, don’t fret. There’s still a lot that you can do to treat cellulite on your own. Not as easy as zapping it away, but hey, you appreciate more what you actually have to work for.
