How to Use Your Primary Photo to Attract Women To Your Online Dating Profile

Monday, March 31st, 2008

By Teddy Shabba Most guy that I know who participate in online dating so pretty much the same way by looking at all the pictures. If they see something that they like then chances are they will send her email. Unless of course they know what they are doing in which case they will actually read her profile and if she still captures his attention he will send her an email based on her profile. Women for the most part do it the same way except without sending the email unless it is extremely well written for her. One simple way to attract women online is to change your profile’s primary picture every week. What this does is two things; It gives women you are communicating with and women who have put you in their favorites list something new and fresh to look at.It gives women who weren’t that impressed with last week’s photo a new opportunity to find your photo attractive.Lets face it all photos aren’t created equal and many times it simply comes down to how a person is looking at the picture. What’s a great picture for you might be alright to me and vice versa even when looking at the same person. When you change your primary photo every week, women can’t help but to look at it as a new photo and new profile that you have. Another thing to remember about your primary photo is never ever put a picture of you shirtless as your primary photo, no matter how incredible your physique. When a man or a woman has a shirtless or very revealing primary photo it tells the world that you are a helpless and insecure human being that believes all you have to offer is your body. Now, for women this can work because lets face it for a lot of men looks is 90% of the equation, so even if she offers you nothing else you are still looking at an A-. However, for men this rarely works because not too many women find insecure and helpless attractive long or short term. Bottom line is the more you change your primary photo online the more opportunities you will create for yourself to attract women online. Knowing and Guessing

Friday, March 28th, 2008

By Nan S. Russell The line between average and exceptional work performance is dotted with ordinary day-by-day behaviors. I was reminded of that line recently. My husband was explaining to a nurse how he’d inadvertently taken the last dose of the live typhoid virus on the wrong day and wondered if he needed to retake the sequence prior to our Africa trip. “No,” she commented, “I think you’ll be fine.” We both knew she was guessing. While rolling down my sleeve from the next set of immunizations, a different nurse poked her head into the room. “I overheard your conversation at the desk.” she said to Dan. “We’ve never had that situation, so I thought it best to call the drug manufacturer for advice. Turns out you need to retake the entire dosage.” We were grateful she took the extra step. It’s not possible to know all the answers to all the questions you’ll get tossed in the workplace. But, be willing to say when you don’t. That’s better than giving out misinformation or guessing at an answer without making it clear it’s a guess. People who are winning at working add four words - “but I’ll find out.” And they do find out and get back to the person. That extra step differentiates their performance in the workplace. Jeff was already in the department when I was hired to manage it. “I don’t know” was his typical response when queried beyond the surface status reports of his projects. At first, I expected Jeff to automatically find out the answers to my questions and inform me, his new boss. But he never did. Jeff managed to train me to follow up to his “I don’t know,” with “please find out and tell me.” Jeff worked for me for two years and at the time I moved on, I was still asking him to find out. For Jeff and people like Jeff, “I don’t know” is a habitual way to reduce their task list. To them, “I don’t know” ends it. What they don’t realize is what else it ends in the minds of their bosses, clients or customers. It baffles me that someone thinks saying “I don’t know” suffices when it involves their work responsibilities. It baffles me how frequently people offer their best guesses like factual answers. And it baffles me, in my twenty years in management, how surprisingly few people took the small step to find out. Those who did stood out. They went from guessing to knowing. Find out answers and you’ll build knowledge that differentiates you. Want to be winning at working? Stop guessing; start knowing. The next time you find yourself venturing a guess on an important answer, pause. Then reframe your response with, “I don’t know for sure, but I’ll find out for you.” Not only will you be adding to your knowledge base, but when you find out and follow up with the person, you’ll be building your credibility and crossing an important performance line. 7 Ways that Color Heals

Monday, March 24th, 2008

By Stephen Sweet Color has a profound affect on how we feel. This has been reflected in our language, when we talk about someone feeling blue, or seeing red, or looking at life through rose colored glasses. Over time, color experts have noticed how specific colors affect us, and you can use this knowledge to help you mentally and emotionally. In school, we learned that the seven basic colors of the rainbow are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Each of these colors has a special affect on the way people feel and behave. Red tends to be energizing, and can help with self-confidence. Orange can make people more sociable, and more success-oriented, while yellow helps with mental clarity and curiosity. Both orange and yellow can have an uplifting effect on people. If you find yourself nervous, green might help. Green has a harmonizing and calming effect on your emotions. Use blue if you want to improve your communication skills or relax mentally. Indigo may help you develop a more accurate perception of things. If you are feeling stuck in your creative pursuits, violet may help by bringing you inspiration. Equipped with this knowledge, you need to bring these colors into your life. There are many ways to do this. Certainly one way you can do this very readily is by bringing color into your immediate environment. The colors of the walls in your home can have a strong effect on your feelings. For instance, a room with deep red walls will have a completely different effect on you than a room with calming green walls. There are, however, other ways to bring color into your life. One way is through colored light bulbs. Another way is to wear colored glasses. There are both bulbs and glasses specially designed for the purpose of color therapy. Usually a brief exposure exposure of between fifteen minutes and an hour a day to either the bulbs or the glasses is all that is need to begin to notice an effect on how you feel. (if you get the colored glasses, make sure they filter out harmful ultraviolet rays, just as good sunglasses would.) Another way to introduce color into your life is through the use of color essences. Color essence are water which has been “charged” with the energy of specific colors. Color therapy is just one form of alternative medicine and holistic care. With a little bit of knowledge and some self-experimentation, you can find ways that color can improve the quality of your life. Body And Mind - The Undeniable Connection

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

By Jason Mordecai Both mind and body are continuously affecting one another. As that phone call proceeds, swarms of electrical impulses whiz down nerves at break neck speeds, creating a flood of hormones that are absorbed by the cells in our body. We dont just think that we are irritated; we physically feel that we are irritated. Similarly, our body is constantly subjected to attack from hosts of microscopic invaders, some of us malnourished, and some of us need more exercise. Bodies that are well nourished and exercised have the capacity to produce more of the brain chemicals that make us feel good. The further you delve into the mind-body connection, the more you are inclined to realize that by developing effective physical and mental coping mechanisms the better chance you have of functioning as a well adjusted person in a constantly stressful society. If you exclude the fact that your medicine cabinet my be inundated with supplements and vitamins, and you try to eat the mandatory one item of fruit per day, while attempting a few glasses of water and confronting the daunting prospect of going to the local cacophonic gym in order to wind down your day; you may be asking what else can be done to further your quest for good health. Clearly we have not addressed the mind side of the mind-body continuum yet. I am not including your monthly dose of therapy, or the attempt to follow the advice of our many new age gurus that implore us to think positively. In many instances all this does is to put a plaster over a well of stress and worry, or at worse produces a flood of guilt, driven by the fact that you know you should think positively, but are too overwhelmed by the life that dominates your conscious mind. I am talking about a genuine attempt to address the deep seated emotional triggers that activate the health damaging chemical storm that affects our bodies, especially under times of stress. A first simple step is simply to acknowledge that it is possible. It is possible to address the various aspects of the mind to make a significant impact on the health of your body I can do this too. In fact there is a growing school of scientific evidence to say that it is possible to achieve this. Scientists call this science Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI), the link between the psyche, the neurological system (brain and central nervous system) and the immune system. This science is often illustrated best, by the capacity of people suffering from so called auto immune related disorders to drive the disease into remission, or in some cases to live in harmony with the disease. There are cases of tumors disappearing in the absence of chemotherapy. Likewise there are individuals that have managed to come to terms with the fact that the HI virus has found a home in their body and are commonly regarded as long term survivors, all things considered there people are more like long term thrivers. But PNI, need not only apply to diseases like cancer, HIV or Chronic fatigue syndrome. Many people suffer from more common day to day mind-body related ailments neck aches, head aches, migraines and ulcers ailments that are far less daunting but also have a direct relationship with stress and lifestyle. The message is simple Its possible. Its possible, but do you know how the so called ailment operates in your body? What triggers it, where does it reside and what switches it off? While you are reading this, STOP, dont move a muscle! Take stock of how you are sitting, how do your toes feel, can you feel the pressure of your backside on the seat, what angle is your shoulder at, how about your neck? Is there is one place where tension in you body is at its highest? If you examine that exact place, which part of it carries the most tension, the middle to the left, to the right, deep inside or on the surface? Can you pin point the exact spot? Now what does it need to let go? If you imagine it, what characteristics would it have? Would it be a specific colour, a specific shape or temperature? Does it have a name? You may notice that the mind has graphic or auditory representations of feelings within our body. Now think back to various times of the day, when is this feeling the strongest? If it had an on/off switch what event would switch it on immediately? We have not explored the importance of breathing, posture or the importance of spiritualism in your life. Nor have we considered the impact of having a true life purpose, and its effect on your body. For now get curious and play and enjoy. Winters Death-Throes And The Coming Of Spring

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

By Joe Strini If the Groundhog is to be believed we have only about four and a half weeks of winter left. I am, however, looking out of my window at falling snow. In fact it is the most snow that has fallen in one storm in this area all winter. It is predicted that in the end there will be five to eight inches of accumulation. I know, I know. Compared with the amounts that have fallen in some areas of the country this year this is nothing. Some of you really got socked hard but around here eight inches is quite a lot. The point I am trying to make though has nothing to do with accumulation levels The point is that regardless of what the Groundhog had to say Winter is not going to go without a fight. For the last couple of weeks there have been almost record cold temperatures. Wind chill temperatures have been alarming. But, even as Winter is fighting its hardest to hang on as long as possible, all is not as bleak as it appears The weather outside makes this a perfect time for families to build new bonds with each other and reinforce family ties. It is a great time for couples to get to know each other all over again. If you are lucky enough to have a fireplace I envy you; for what can possibly be better than curling up in front a nice warm fire with your significant and most important other. This is the perfect time for great family activities. Hot popcorn and a good movie, playing games together, just plain old fashion family talk around the dinner table. Now is the time that families can plan activities together for the warm days to come. It is also a good time to set your priorities for the inevitable Spring Cleaning. What will be the most important thing to get done? Clean out the winter accumulation of junk from the garage or basement, decide what new types of plants and flower you will want in the garden. For me the most important task will be to get the yard back in shape for entertaining friends on the deck. The most important thing for that is to get the barbecue grill and smoker cleaned up and ready to go. A good lawn party in the first sunny days of Spring goes a long way toward clearing out the Winter cobwebs and getting a brand new, brighter outlook on the world. There is no such thing as a bad day. It is all in your perspective and perception. As I have been told many times, perception is reality. This is something I believe. When the weather outside is cold, wet, and gloomy look at it as an opportunity to spend quality time with the people you love and that matter most to you, your family. Use the nasty weather as an opportunity to look forward to the Coming of Spring and you may find that your Spring will be sprung a little earlier. This kind of Family face time is often not easy to come by. Make the most of it while you can. Visit me at Cookware for Home Cooking for quality cookware, recipes, and cooking tips. Abatement and Consistency Philosophy

Monday, March 17th, 2008

By Lance Winslow So often our abatement policies are inconsistent and not because circumstances are much different, but because the users of the abatement products and chemicals just do not understand chemistry or how the chemicals are able to do their job. If a chemical is to be used on an area, which needs to be abated it must be used in the right ratios of course, yet if you take the abatement chemical and spread it evenly and properly over a large area then you are not necessarily attacking the real problem in that you are not putting it onto the clusters of the pest or problem needing to be abated. It would be far better of course to put the proper amount of chemicals onto the clusters directly. Similar to a weed spraying truck driving along a levee and spraying individual weeds, however this in not always possible to do in large areas, yet if other methods are used then the chemicals are abused and over used and everyone loses later on. Rather than over use or nuking the problem it would be better to solve these issues in a more measured out manner and more targeted of course too. I would propose the use of a special camera, which shows shades of different colored light on the area and allow for detection of the real problems and clusters and then use that as the battle plan for application onto the most urgent clusters of the nuisance or pest. Do You Know These Tricks To Help Conquer Food Cravings?

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

By Tracy Lee Food cravings are crafty — they appear from nowhere and hit you just when you least expect them, don’t they? And the critical thing is that the way you respond to your food cravings might just make or break your success at weight loss and maintenance. That’s why you need simple ways to deal with cravings whenever they pop up. Now, veering off from your eating plan occasionally will not be earth-shattering, but if you make a habit of giving in to your eating impulses, your moments of weakness will certainly catch up with you. The good news is that if you can remember these tips that I am going to share with you today, you will be able to conquer those pesky cravings of yours! 1. Avoid being hungry Eat 5 times a day — 3 meals a day with 2 planned snacks, but remember to moderate your portions for each of your meals. Once you start eating 5 times a day instead of the usual 3, you’ll find that you’ll be hungry less often, and you’ll automatically have fewer cravings throughout the day. On top of that, eating 5 times a day also helps to boost your metabolism level, so you’ll be burning more calories throughout the day than before. And that’s why this is my number one tip! 2. Catch your cravings early If you can catch your cravings early, you have more control over them. So, when do cravings start? A craving starts with a thought of something good to eat. It can be triggered by encountering a situation in which you see or smell tempting food, or by just thinking of something good and dwelling on the idea. After a while, you’ll be able to recognize the situations which are likely to make you start craving for certain foods. The moment you catch the cravings coming on, you can start to put the tips below into use. The earlier you can catch your cravings, the better chances you have of overcoming them. 3. Ride out a craving Believe it or not, you can simply wait out a craving. Sometimes we may even mistake a craving for actual hunger. Don’t dwell on thoughts of food or eating — distract yourself! By playing the waiting game for about 20 minutes, it can help you to distinguish between the craving and actual hunger. In the meantime, get busy by doing something else to distract your mind: take a walk, play a game, or concentrate on your work projects. You may be pleasantly surprised to find that the craving has subsided after some time has passed. If you still want something 20 minutes later, chances are that you are truly hungry. By giving yourself a little time to take a pause before giving in, you may find the craving will disappear altogether. 4. Drink your water Sometimes all you need is just a glass of water, that’s all! Many times, we can mistake dehydration for hunger or cravings. Take a moment and drink a glass or two of water; it may be just what you need. And this has another side benefit too — even if you were truly hungry, the water will help to make you fill fuller (without adding any calories to your daily intake), so you’ll not need to eat as much later. 5. Temporarily ruin your taste buds After drinking your water, if you find that your craving still does not go away and you cannot stop thinking about eating, what you can try to do next is to disrupt your sense of taste or smell. Try a strong mouth mint. Or you can brush your teeth or dab some cologne or strong smelling ointment under your nose. This may only work for a while, so you must get busy doing something else to take your mind off eating. After a while, you will find yourself not thinking of the craving, and before you know it, it is already time for your next meal. 6. Giving in to your craving BUT only just a little You will face the biggest danger about cravings when you give in to them. What happens to a lot of people is that when they give in to the craving, they also lose control of how much they eat too. Thus, please be extra careful when you decide to eat something to satisfy your cravings. Don’t overdo it. Eat an amount that seems reasonable and appropriate. For example, you should never allow yourself to finish an entire carton of ice cream or a whole bag of chips in one sitting. What you can do is to take a small serving out and put the rest away. Alternatively, you can buy small portions to begin with. In most cases, you will find that the first few bites actually satisfy the craving anyway! 7. Don’t fool yourself If you are dying to have a chocolate chip cookie, you know that the low fat energy bar is not going to do the trick. So, what should you do? Well, there’s no point trying to fool yourself. That’s right, go for the “bad” choice. But remember: “Moderation, moderation, MODERATION!” It is fine to allow yourself to indulge in what you really want, provided you watch your portion size. You will not feel deprived, and you’ll be able to sustain these new healthy eating habits for the long haul. On the other hand, if you abstain completely from all your favorite foods, you are more likely to eat that energy bar AND the chocolate chip cookie. Easy, right? I’m sure they’ll be able to help you manage your cravings better. So go ahead and try out the 7 tips above… _today_! How To Buy The Perfect Gift For Anyone

Friday, March 14th, 2008

By Gary Gresham Shopping online for gifts rather than going to a store is not only convenient, but you save time, money and have an incredible variety of gifts to choose from. It’s no wonder online shopping is growing at a phenomenal rate every year. But with so much to choose from, how do you buy the perfect gift for someone? The mistake most people make is buying something that they like instead of thinking hard about the interests of the person they are buying for. Admit it; you have probably done this before. If you want to buy the perfect gift for your recipient, take the time to learn about the interests of that person even if it’s something you don’t particularly enjoy. Once you know their interests, you can shop smarter and have a much better chance of getting that perfect gift with the thought that says: I picked this gift only for you. If you are shopping for a gift for your sweetheart or partner, just apply the same rule. Try to focus on their interests. Remember, it’s not what you want; it’s what your partner wants that matters. Listen close to your conversations then casually ask questions to get more specifics. You’ll get clues about gifts they desire. Once you apply this new method of gift shopping, your partner or sweetheart will end up with the perfect gift and you will be surprised by the response you receive. But what about buying a gift for the person who has everything? Here are a few ideas that work well for that problem. Gift Baskets make wonderful gifts for the person who has everything and are available for everyone and every occasion. Again the rule here is look for one that is themed toward your recipient’s interests. Gift baskets come in every theme imaginable and can be tailored to suit the particular occasion or interest perfectly. They are filled with lots of small presents for the gift recipient making them an excellent value. They come in a variety of price ranges, so they are an ideal gift for any budget. Another gift idea for the person who has everything is a gift certificate. Gift certificates are convenient and easy to redeem. But don’t think a gift certificate is a quick solution or an easy way out because it isn’t. If you purchase a gift certificate from a store that offers gifts related toward your recipient’s interests you may be doing them a huge favor. Not only do they get a great gift that interests them but they can choose something that they will actually use and enjoy. As you can see, it’s not difficult to find the perfect gift for anyone. It just takes taking a little extra time to learn about the interests of the recipient. But the result is worth it because it will produce the perfect gift that anyone will be absolutely delighted to receive. Factors To Consider Before Having Your Engagement Photos Taken

Monday, March 10th, 2008

By Christopher Maxwell If you are planning an engagement photo session, this article will hopefully provide some tips and pointers to consider as you plan. What style photos do you want? Studio or outdoor? Formal or casual? Posed or photojournalistic? Try to think of your personalities and how you would like to share your news with your family and friends (and perhaps a photo that can be included with your wedding invitations) and think of what style of photography would best match that. Discuss your thoughts with your fianc/fiance. Types of photos Search the web for engagement photos and perhaps print out a few to take with you to your engagement session. There are thousands of sample photos online; having four or five that you like will give the photographer some extra ideas to try out. You should also talk to your married friends and see what they did for their engagement photos. Professional or amateur? You are likely to get better results if you hire a professional. They know what they are doing and can work with you to get great photos. However, if budget is a concern, instead of having no photos taken, try to find a friend that will take your photos. Especially a friend that has some photography skill. If you are using a friend for the pictures, do not do an indoor photo session! Try to have an outdoor photo session in the evening as the sun is setting - but without any direct sun shining on you. Go to a park or other beautiful location. And then have fun! If you need to, go out and take some test photos to see what the location and lighting looks like and then go back the next day for the actual photo session. Wedding Photographer? Many wedding photographers include an engagement session in their wedding photography packages. It is a wonderful way for you to test out a photographer and see how well you interact with them, and how well they are able to put you at ease during a photo session. If you are having engagement photos taken in the same area where the wedding will be, and you are hiring a professional photographer for your wedding, I strongly recommend you consider using the same photographer for your engagement photo session. Dont be Nervous! The key to a successful engagement photo session, and what many professionals are skilled at, is helping you relax in front of the camera. Dont get bogged down with the details of the photo session and how you are appearing (its hard not to be vain during such an important session I know!). Instead, focus on your fianc/fiance and your love for them. Relax and enjoy being with them. If the photographer has posing tips, have fun while trying them out. If a friend is taking your photos I believe you have a better chance of success by going out and having a fun, relaxed, photo session than going for a serious, posed session. Even IF you had to go back out for another photo session because the first batch didnt turn out well oh, well. Consider it another special outing with the one you love. What to Wear The wedding vows have not been exchanged yet, but you have, in essence, already pledged your life and love to your fianc/fiance. I would strongly recommend that you coordinate your clothing. Whether it is tan and whites, or perhaps denim whatever the colors, work at coordinating. Casual or formal? Again, make sure you coordinate. Christopher Maxwell does engagement photography in the Kansas City area.
