Creating a Holiday Scrapbook

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

By Audrey Okaneko Throughout the year we have both religious holidays and also secular holidays. I remember as a kid our family always spent the fourth of July with some friends of my parents. I have very fond memories of this family and actually remember their home and some of the various years we spent with them. Depending on how many photos you take, you can either create a few small 6×6 albums, one for each holiday, or you can create one large 12×12 album and call it Holidays of (fill in year). I have found many stickers, diecuts and even pre-made kits for every holiday. I love to add these items to my holiday scrapbooks. I also love to color theme holiday books, such as red, white and blue for the fourth of July, or orange and brown for both Thanksgiving and Halloween. If you buy invitations or receive an invitation to a holiday get together, save the invitation for your scrapbook. I also love to put recipes into the holiday albums. Many families have family recipes they serve only for specific holidays. Capture those in your scrapbook pages and share them for generations to come. Of course, people make the celebration. Take plenty of photos of the people attending the celebration. Take both group shots and also individual shots. Take photos of the buffet table before everyone eats. If the holiday is a gift giving holiday, or gift giving celebration, save a little bit of the wrapping paper and ribbon to add to your scrapbook. Today, preserving memories is as simple as attaching photos and memorabilia to a scrapbook page. Audrey Okaneko has been scrapbooking for several years. Hurricane Preparedness and Workers’ Compensation

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

By Linda Fox Among the lessons learned from the 2005 hurricane season are how to deal with displaced workers, especially those that are injured. All states could take a cue from Texas Governor Rick Perry, who issued a bulletin in anticipation of impending disasters. The bulletin was very proactive in nature. It advised companies and others to have an alternative plan for reporting injuries in the event of displacement due to natural disasters. The target audience included workers’ compensation insurance companies for both hurricane victims as well as evacuees from all along the Gulf Coast. Some specifics mentioned are for companies to:provide methods for reporting a change of address for displaced employees provide displaced workers with immediate medical attention when injured quickly distribute benefit checks allow extensions of deadlines for filing claims This advice could certainly apply to more areas than workers’ compensation. Everyone can learn to be more proactive. Find out your companies position and procedures on medical care when disasters occur and cause your own potential displacement. Keep information of this nature for each person in your family or household handy. Lastly, all states need issue or reissue similar advisories so this kind of information is fresh for the 2006 hurricane season. Advice For Attracting Men Online

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

By Jason King These online dating tips for women will help you get that single man’s attention, and keep it. There’s a lot of competition that you will be compared to so you’ll need to stand out from the crowd. Men are easily attracted to someone just by looking at them. That is why it is important you have a good photo on your profile. This is the first thing any man will notice. If you don’t catch their attention with your photo the rest of your profile is wasted. Just by uploading a clear recent photo from the shoulders up or the waist up you will have a better chance of getting your profile looked at. And your photo will stand out better than over half of the other single women’s photos. You’ll see lots of poor quality photos taken from too far away. These single women are trying to sell themselves with these photos, and they look like they have made no effort what so ever. So if you make the effort your photo will stand out, and get the click. By all means put other photos in your profile as well but have them as extra ones and not the main one. The next thing the single men will notice is your username. You will need to create one that stands out. It can be based on a hobby of yours so it says something about you, and doesn’t look like everyone else’s. Don’t use a name where you have to put a number on the end because a thousand other women are using the same name. Your name will show up in chat rooms as well, so choose one that stands out, and you will be remembered. Fill your profile in with as much detail as possible. You don’t have to write an essay for every question, but don’t leave questions unanswered. Be 100% honest as well, you don’t want to get caught out later because you lied in your profile. This could end any chances you had with the single you was just starting to get on with. Honesty is attractive so use it to your advantage. With more women getting e-mailed than men you will be answering a lot of them. The ones you do answer you don’t want to start writing novels back to the men. This will probably turn them off. Small attractive sentences that are sometimes a bit flirty will grab his attention. Try to reply to as many e-mails as possible. Some online dating services show what percentage of e-mails you have answered so if it’s low you may put off Mr. Right from contacting you. Try not reply though to men that just send you smiles or flirts. This usually means they’re on a free trial and want to get a free ride with your contact. Plus you’ll probably be the twentieth one they have sent out that day. If you follow all the online dating tips for women above you will get contacted more often than the average single woman. Extreme Wedding Cake Makeover Ideas

Monday, January 28th, 2008

By Chris Ryerson Are you tired of seeing the traditional three tier wedding cake with simple white frosting and the little bride and groom wedding cake topper. We all know the iconic wedding cake look and feel. If you are after a very formal or classic wedding then this is the exact cake you want. However, today many couples are opting for alternative wedding themes and a more relaxed feeling overall. With popular wedding themes like fairy tales, Dragonflies and other fun and light or even whimsical themes a traditional wedding cake no longer fits correctly in its place. It is nor time to take that old wedding cake out of the closet it and give it a whole new look. America seems to be in love with the idea of a makeover from the hit TV shows like Extreme Body Makeover, Extreme Home Makeover and the ever popular Pimp My Ride America seems to be in a love with makeovers. Well, wedding cakes are no different and todays couples are going for more unusual, light and fun ideas for wedding cakes. So why not try some of these custom wedding cake ideas. Creative and Custom Wedding Cake Toppers There are a ton of different wedding cake toppers on the market today and you are no longer stuck with what your local bakery has. You can now easily shop online and find retailers selling a wide variety of wedding cake toppers. You can have anything from the traditional bride and groom to the whacky and wild. If you are willing to pay a little extra you can get a custom wedding cake topper sculpted out of special non toxic clay like material and created in the likeness of you and your husband. If you are really into a sport or want to show something unique about the two of you as a couple then a custom wedding cake topper is the way to go. The artists can easily make a couple doing just about anything. So if you are avid rock climbers then you can have a bride and groom fashioned in your likeness that are on the top of Yosemite Half Dome, or whatever sport or activity you like. If you dont want to be that adventurous then you might want to go for a custom initials wedding cake topper. These are beautiful wedding cake toppers created from your initials and then decorated with small crystals. Whatever you choose there is a wedding cake topper either already made or that can be custom made to fit your wedding theme. Themed Wedding Cakes If you just go to your local bakery or even a small wedding cake shop you are likely to just find the standard wedding cake offerings or the traditional cake. However, if you really want to do a wedding cake makeover ask if they can do themed wedding cakes. There are a wide variety of options for a custom wedding cake and some of the ways that you can customize are listed below. Decorations If you are not sure about all of this and want to stick somewhat to tradtion then why not go for the traditional cake but add some flare to it through the decorations and frosting. Most wedding cake bakers can add a wide variety of different ornaments and decorations to the wedding cake to really make it stand out. Sure you can go with the traditional shaped cakes like the three tiered circle or even a tiered square cake but that does not mean you cant go a little crazy and get some interesting decorations put on it with unique frosting ideas. Try to pick up on the theme of the wedding as much as possible. Sculpted Cakes Now this is where a custom wedding cake baker really can show off their talents and the types of projects they often love to do. A baker who can do a sculpted cake might take a little work to find however once you find one you are only limited by your ideas. Do you want a big castle wedding cake? They can easily do this to make a fairy tale wedding cake. If you want a beach themed wedding cake why not get a picnic basket or a beautiful sand castle wedding cake. If you are contemplating getting a sculpted cake you can really have any three dimensional design that you can think of. Why not try a hamburger and fries for a fun and light hearted beach wedding cake. The sky is the limited once you get a sculpted cake. Mini Cakes and Cup Cakes Again if you dont quite feel ready to make the commitment to such a grand cake like above and want to keep a little bit on the traditional side yet with a flair of fun why not try a mini wedding cake or even cupcakes. These are fun because they are small individual serving sized cakes that your guests will love. If you are planning on having a small wedding it can be a lot of fun to create personalized mini wedding cakes for the guests. Whatever you choose always keep in mind that there are options out there to customize, tweak, alter and change just about every factor of your wedding cake. Let you mind wander and have fun a bit and go for something a little different. Always make sure to plan ahead and leave enough time for the baker to do the extra job well. Otherwise you are all set to go with a fun and unique wedding cake that is a definite extreme makeover from the traditional three or five tiered wedding cake. The Online Pharmacy - Medications For The Needy And Not So Needy!

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Stephen_Brennan] Stephen Brennan There are, of course, pros and cons to virtually everything in life, and the Internet is certainly no exception. Going even further, the specific area of the Internet about which there are definitely pros and cons, is the Online Pharmacy or rather, the thousands upon thousands of them. Online Pharmacies come in a few different types, again as with many things, some good and some not so good. I would be foolish to suggest that there aren’t ‘illegal’ pharmacies supplying prescription drugs without prescriptions, without even a prescription written by a doctor on the basis of information collected online. However, I think the majority of Online Pharmacies comply with this requirement. Of course, there are those who would argue that this method of prescribing is not ‘best medical practice’. I suppose I would be inclined to agree if the vast majority of face-to-face consultations in my life took more than 3 to 5 minutes and didnt involve less of an exchange of information than that which is required on the average online questionnaire. I’m disabled with a chronic illness, so there have been many hundreds of such consultations, although this doesn’t apply to my current General Practitioner and my Pain Specialist (Anesthetist), whom it took many years for me to find. As for the information that a patient needs to have in order to safely use prescription drugs, well…. let’s just say that the smallest and most uninformative Online Pharmacy would contain more information in the form of explanations, side effects, dosage, precautions, storage and contraindications that most doctors could give to a patient in the time allotted, provided of course, they deemed it necessary to inform them at all which, again in my experience, is very rarely. Why should a doctor lower himself/herself to explain such things to a mere ‘layperson’, even if they have the unmitigated gall to ask these questions? So, in my opinion, the majority of Online Pharmacies are not depriving the patient of one single thing with regard to the knowledge the doctor has or needs and the information they have or need. This leaves only the question of the actual drugs themselves, compared to those that would be supplied by the Pharmacy down the road. Before we get to this, I have to declare that I am totally against any kind of ‘controlled’ drug being purchased (or otherwise obtained) except under the strictest supervision of a qualified and ‘capable’ physician. Of course, by ‘controlled’ drugs I mean drugs of addiction like opiates, tranquillizers and barbiturates etc. Basically any prescription drug that could cause even the most careful patient to become dependent, whether it be physically or psychologically. Having said this, the types of drugs supplied to treat erectile dysfunction, inflammation and weight loss (by far the most commonly sourced groups) don’t generally come under this category (with the exception of weight loss drugs containing ’speed’). The vast majority of Online Pharmacies only provide access to drugs, which would not be considered addictive. Those that do should be shut down without recourse or appeal. As for the entire concept of Online Pharmacies, we all know there are people, especially in the U.S. (a supposedly developed country), where much needed medications have to be forgone because of many peoples inability to afford them. Online Pharmacies make it possible for many of these people to access the prescription drugs they need at a fraction of the cost, making it possible for them to obtain the drugs they wouldnt normally be able to. I am Australian and we enjoy a generous government subsidized Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, which ensures that no-one pays more than a ‘token’ fee for all prescription drugs that are listed (regardless of the actual cost). So it is appalling to me that people with a need for prescription medications must often do without them because of socio-economic reasons. I understand even people with relatively adequate financial resources still struggle to afford medications, especially where a chronic condition or series of illnesses over time may be concerned. Yes, there are Online Pharmacies, which supply ‘controlled’ drugs. This is terrible. Yes, there are Online Pharmacies, which don’t bother with the doctor/prescription aspect and yes, there are Online Pharmacies, which supply drugs of dubious quality from questionable sources. However, in the main, the majority of Online Pharmacies are simply filling a great need as safely and as responsibly as can be done in the real world. It would be a terrible shame for this recent ‘breakthrough’ in the affordability of prescription drugs to those who wouldn’t normally have access, to be taken away. In fact, now that the Internet and Online Pharmacies exist, it would be inhumane for those in countries where there is no government subsidy or other means for those who simply cannot afford to pay the exorbitant prices, to take away their affordable access to much needed treatments. When authorities see fit, for whatever reason, to spend so many billions on things such as defense and the space program but allow their citizens to go without adequate drug treatments, then a means by which these people ARE able to access what they need, MUST be able to continue to operate unhindered. Carefully monitored, yes - but not legislated out of legal existence. The amount of money spent each year through the Online Pharmacies, demonstrates more than anything else, the huge need that exists and the level of support from the community en masse. How Important is Battery in Your Mobile Phone?

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=James_Dyson]James Dyson Mobile phone battery is like an in-build powerhouse of your mobile phone. There are varieties of batteries for varying capacity of mobile phones. A battery is a very important component in a mobile phone as it supplies low electrical power for its functioning. Battery technology for mobile phones has been witnessing continuous improvements, which actually help the production of newer sophisticated mobile phones. The older type batteries like Ni-Cad require regular and complete discharge before its recharging. But, the newer type batteries like Li-Ion and NiMH does not require any such practice. All these types of batteries have a limit of current load that can be preserved in it and this is usually measured in milliampres (mAH). Depending on various characters, mobile phone batteries are classified into many types in which Ni-Cad batteries are older type and the newer are Lithium-Ion batteries. The NiMH Batteries The NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) type of batteries are one that used widely today because of the fact that it does not require complete discharge before starting recharge like in a NiCad battery. For this advantageous reason, they are largely used in mobile phones and even in laptops. This important aspect makes NiMH batteries supported by large number of consumers, as they do not hamper you by servicing the batteries every time before recharge. The other main advantage with the battery is that it stores more power than of Ni-Cad and Alkaline batteries. Still it has an obstacle for their users that it discharges by itself within a quicker period of time, which makes it not practical for longer storage. The Li-Ion Batteries The Lithium-Ion batteries are new to the market and have the lowest discharge rate compared to Ni-Cad and NiMH batteries. They are nothing to do with complete discharge before recharge and so, today they are widely used in mobile phones. They are excellent to use because of their low-weight, which make devices such as mobile phones and video cameras more portable. The Li-Polymer Batteries This is the most new type battery used in the market. They are the most successful today for mobiles phones due to their potential of higher storage and low-weight. In addition to knowing the battery types, also you need to adopt some practice to maximize the life of whichever mobile phone battery you use. One of them is cleaning the dirty battery contacts, which is the main problem of charging the batteries. So, clean the battery contact of your mobile phones regularly. Batteries that are kept unused for longtime lose their storage capacity. So, once started with a battery, it should be used until it expires. Following all this you can have a long going battery for your mobile phone, importantly can prevent yourself from being spent extra to purchase another battery. The Hauntings of Long Island - Can Homes REALLY be Haunted

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

By Carole Provenzale It seems everyone knows of a ghost story they have heard. While some are ardent disbelievers the ones who have experienced some very unusual and very disturbing things in their homes are no longer disbelievers. Increasingly my calls for Feng Shui include more then just changing the Energy to increase wealth or find a partner or career. About one in ten of them these days are for the Blessings, to help rid the home of what some of the occupants are experiencing. Still others are reluctant to discuss it; however, when the question comes up of Do you see, hear or feel anything unusual in the home? there is often dead silence. They are reluctant to discuss things that they are uncomfortable with for fear they wont be believed or I may think them foolish or crazy. Having now seen so much of this phenomena and seeing that my clients are mindful, caring people I know they are experiencing what Feng Shui calls Predecessor Energy, the stuck or negative Energy left behind by former occupants of the home or even the land. We were equipped in Feng Shui with wonderful and powerful Transcendental Blessings and Cures but sometimes these are just not enough; more knowledge is needed and different methods as well as the Blessings are employed. Energies can come through in a variety of forms: there can be unusual smells that appear from no where, electrical energy is often experienced with lights flickering, doorbells ringing and no one being there and TVs turning themselves on and off. Noises are often present as well, interrupting much needed sleep and sometimes scaring clients. Of course, many times there are visions as well. After a decade of hearing these stories, I am convinced there are hauntings that result in these incidents occurring in peoples homes. I am careful to devote extra time to see if I can determine exactly how the Energy is coming though, the times they find it is most likely to happen and what particular family members are experiencing it; these are crucial elements to finally ridding the home of this unwelcome energy. I am thankful during these calls for my prior experience in parapsychology and am happy to say that in most cases, my clients are no longer experiencing the sights, sounds, feelings or sightings they have previously had. I am careful to keep up with each client and on more then one occasion we have had to use an additional method(s) or advanced blessings but they have been reporting amazing reports. While no one can promise you that these energies will stop completely for you, please do know you do not have to live with this. Experienced consultants can employ a number of methods to make your house truly your own home. Please note that statistics show that most people who will call on a Feng Shui Consultant are of average income and college educated. They are also likely to be mindful and spiritual as well so I am not talking to clients who are imagining things by any means. Since I am particularly sensitive to Energy in an environment anyway, I am likely to feel it myself upon entering a home or just a room. Energy is like an imprint left behind, it is what we, the world and the Universe run on. While we believe it is always wise, if possible, to call a Certified Feng Shui Practitioner to your home when you are moving into a new space to Bless you and your family in it right from the start. New beginnings should always be blessed to make sure you are off to the best possible start. Calling a consultant can also take some of the stress from moving as you will be advised on colors, furniture placement and many other things to set up your new home and feel truly welcomed every time you get home. If you have been experiencing unpleasant occurrences in your home, please do feel free to discuss them openly with your consultant. We are equipped to help you in many different ways and anyone practicing for a long time will have heard similar stories so many times they will not think you are imaging things.Always remember, unpleasant feelings or energies in your home are NOT something you have to live with! An Introduction To Garden Railroads

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

By B. Murphy A popular trend in model railroading is using equipment and accessories that are rugged enough to stand up to the weather to build outdoor railroad layouts. The term “garden railroads” stems from the fact that these outdoor layouts are often integrated into a garden, with the garden providing part or all of the scenery and landscaping. The basic structure and design of the railroad is very similar to what you would use indoors, but there are some differences worth noting. First, garden railroads must be rugged enough to stand up to the weather and stay in use over the long term. Depending on the climate, these trains may be run for much of the year and they need to be able to withstand that kind of use. Along those lines, you also need to be sure that the equipment and railroad is built in a way that is easy to maintain. Integrating it into your garden can be a lot of work, but having to take it back out to repair it can be even more. Garden railroads originate from Europe where they started with G-scale models but they are popular all over the world. Because of this, G-scale trains and accessories are much easier to find than they were in the past. There are events and conventions dedicated to Garden Railways, such as the Garden Railway Convention held each year in Denver. A calendar of these events can be found on www.gardentrains.org or in the events section of www.trains.com. Garden railroads can make a great addition to your backyard, strictly for your own enjoyment, or they can be added to more public places where everyone can enjoy them. Just be prepared for the crowds of onlookers if you set it up somewhere that anyone can see! Bill Murphy writes about designing and building your model railway for the Model Railroader website. Ten Stress Reducing Tips for Teens Studying for Tests

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

By Betty Hoeffner Test anxiety is at an all time high in light of the No Child Left Behind law regarding test scores. Pressure to score well has students and teachers stressed. Hey UGLY Inc., NFP, the 501 (C) 3 nonprofit that helps teens with self-esteem wanted to help students ease their stress over taking tests so they put together the following tips: 1. Prepare Your Body - The best start to sharpening your mind is to fine tune your body. Peak mental performance starts with a body that is fueled with healthy foods, moderately exercised, and given adequate rest. An occasional candy bar or popcorn might be fine, but avoid filling your body with junk foods, which tend to give you a quick burst of energy that will run out before you need it most. Drink water and avoid extra caffeine. Take walks, shoot hoops, jog, laugh, dance, or take time for some other kind of exercise that gets your heart pumping. Start now or at least a week before exams, then keep it up. Your mind will thank you for it. 2. Collect Your Gear - You wouldn’t try to play tennis without a racquet. Organize yourself early by collecting and inspecting your equipment. You’ll need tests and quizzes, notes, textbooks and workbooks, and copies of handouts from class. If you have lost your syllabus or course overview, ask your instructor for another copy. Collect review sheets and lists of vocabulary words, important names and dates, or theorems, laws and principles. Organize these materials into separate stacks so you’ll have all you need in front of you as you begin to study. 3. Map Your Route - The best way to reach your destination is to plan ahead, and the first step is just getting started. You already knowor you may ask your teacher if you aren’t surewhen you’ll be taking your exams. Prepare a plan by scheduling time ahead to study for each exam. Avoid putting things off, as procrastination is not only one of the greatest contributors to stress, but also the choice least likely to lead to success. Prepare a chart or calendar that includes each test date, then plan backward to allow at least three and ideally six or seven days ahead of time to start studying. 4. Pack For the Journey - Now that you have a plan, it’s time to start packing. Look back at major tests, vocabulary words, and important projects. Review lists of key points at the beginning and end of textbook chapters, along with the main headings in between. A good approach is to get a set of note cards, then write each major topic from these materials on one card. Next, go through your notes and add important points to remember under the major topics. When you get ready to study, you can focus on the cards instead of having to refer to different books and papers. 5. Break It Down - Now that you have your information in a form that will literally fit in your hand, break the cards down into smaller stacks. Look at the chart or calendar you made and prepare one smaller stack for each day you have set aside for studying for that test. Put a rubber band around each smaller stack and commit yourself to mastering the material on each smaller stack on the day you have planned. 6. Take Time to Laugh It Up With a Friend - So far, we’ve been focused on preparing to study. Now it’s time to lighten up and get some help. Call a friend or classmate and schedule some laughter and study time together. That’s right, laughing time. According to Steve Wilson, physiologist, and founder of the World Laughter Tour, “If you look at all the research on laughter, it strongly leads us to the conclusion that one of the main purposes of laughter is the discharge of tension. Laughter also energizes people. If you laugh long enough and hard enough you reverse the physiology of stress.” If you need help laughing try Laughtercising with the “Laugh It Off” CD. Once you and your friends are de-stressed, you can help one another by taking turns quizzing on the cards. It’s a lot more fun than doing all the studying alone. Plan some snack breaks or exercise sessions during your study time to break up the study time. Be sure your breaks don’t last so long that you fall short of what you planned to study. Some people like to set a timer or agree on a time to come back to studying as a way to make good progress. 7. Take a Trial Run - Many famous athletes, entertainers and musicians, as well as very successful people in other walks of life, understand the importance of practice before a performance. Get out your note cards, a pen or pencil and some paper, and then cover up all but the headings. Write what you know about each heading on the paper. If you get stuck, just peek at the card and keep going. The act of writing out the answers will help you remember them later. You’ll gain confidence from knowing that you could remember what was on the cards before you actually take the test. 8. Visualize Your Success - Another part of practicing is to picture yourself being successful on test day. Sit at a desk or table in a chair with a pen or pencil and paper in front of you. Close your eyes and picture yourself in the room where you’ll take the exam. Picture in your mind the instructor passing out the exams and you receiving yours. Next, take one or two deep breathsinhaling slowly for a count of three, then exhaling slowly for a count of eight. Notice how calming it is to breathe this way. Now imagine yourself beginning the test. Picture the questions on the exam, and visualize yourself confidently recalling the answers from your note cards. Watch yourself calmly answering the questions correctly, finishing the exam, and turning it in. 9. Stay Sharp - Throughout the study process, as well as during your actual test days, take breaks to keep yourself sharp. Get plenty of sleep each night so you won’t be asking a tired mind to perform. Laugh, sing, exercise and eat healthy, especially on test days. 10. Reward Your efforts - No matter what happens during your exams, reward yourself for the work you put in ahead of time. Remember that you cannot control what questions appear on the test or whether you understood or remembered everything. Sometimes students keep thinking about a missed question or two on a test, which keeps them from focusing on other questions. Give yourself a mental high five for the answers you know you got right, and skip over questions you don’t know until you finish the rest. Then come back and try those questions again. And once the test is over, let is pass. Look ahead to the next exam with the confidence that you have prepared yourself for success. Hey U.G.L.Y. By Noraini Maskuri When it comes to losing weight, we try to find ways to do it with little pain or discomfort. There is really an easy way to do it. Sure we can opt for the latest diet program or visit the gym or we can simply choose to find out what to eat to lose weight. Keeping a healthy diet is really one of the wisest decisions you could ever make to keep that weight off. This means eating food that contains a wide variety of foods which includes protein, carbohydrate and fat, as well as vitamins and minerals. The needs of your body do not change just because you decide to lose weight. So eat sensibly and you can do this by planning your meals ahead of time. As with everything else in life, eat in moderation and according to your body needs, which can be determined according to your gender, age and metabolism. What is key is to be mindful of your calories intake from each type of food. You do need to consume carbohydrate as it is a valuable source of energy. There are two types of carbohydrates - simple and complex. Complex carbo can be found in cereals, rice, potatoes, pasta and bread and this will serve us better than simple carbo which is found in sugar, chocolate, biscuits, ice cream and soft drinks. So consume your carbohydrate to maintain healthy digestive system and some may even lower cholesterol levels in the blood. Another essential food is protein, which is useful for the growth, repair and maintenance of cells. Protein can be found in meat, eggs, beans, nuts, milk, fish and dairy products. Good news is even if you are dieting, fats are still needed to balance your diet. Fats help to insulate and protect the body. What you need to look out for is unsaturated fats to derive this concentrated source of energy. What to eat to lose weight is to consume fats from olive oil, polyunsaturated spreads, oily fish and sunflower oil for your fats. This helps to reduce risk of increased cholesterol level in the blood which could lead to coronary heart disease. Drink plenty of water at all times as it is vital for your body to function properly and contains no calories. What you need to eat to lose weight is to set a realistic target and forget about eating just one type of food to acelerate weight loss, like excessive grapefruit as an example. Eat small portions throughout the day rather than using up your calorie quota for the day in one large meal. This lessens your hunger pangs and eventually will help you to lose weight. Replace high-fat snacks with low-fat snacks like apple, banana, carrots, chestnuts, cottage cheese, yoghurt, oranges, celery and crispbread. Avoid almonds, brazil nuts, cream cheese, milk chocolate, peanuts, cheddar cheese and chocolate biscuits. Eat less meat but more potatoes and vegetables. Use skimmed milk instead of full-fat milk. If you need to use cream, use use single cream rather than double cream. Always use the leanest cut of meat and trim off the fat. In order to lose weight effectively, you do not need to starve yourself or to go for boring foods. Just be mindful of the need for a balanced diet of protein, carbohydrate and fat as well as minerals and vitamins. Then you choose wisely what to eat from each type of food.
